Poet Laureate of Virginia

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 5:45 to 8:00 PM, please join me for a 30-minute reading with the River City Poets for their “Words on Fire: Poetry Happy Hour,” at the Firehouse Theatre, 1609 West Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23220. I am happy to meet up with Joanna Suzanne Lee, Richmond’s own poet laureate who has graciously invited me to this evening of readings and networking dedicated to Richmond’s writers. I plan to read “Consider the Conifers, How Some Are Fire-Bred,” and “Chaos: A Study in Disaster,” which have fiery themes, among other poems from three new manuscripts I am finalizing. Nothing counts as much for a poet as reading for a live audience. I am excited about this opportunity to read at the Firehouse.
